Troop 92 Fundraising
To support the Scout's activities and give back to the broader Southborough community, Troop 92 has run several fundraisers over the years including selling popcorn and coffee. Starting in 2023, Troop 92 organized an open golf tournament as the troop's primary fundraising event.
The 2024 Troop 92 Golf Open was a smashing success with a full complement of competitors, cash and raffle prizes totaling over $1,000, and amazing support from our local community!
On Saturday June 1st, Troop 92 held its annual Golf Open at the Southborough Golf Course to raise money for the troop. The money raised supports future troop activities such as camping trips and local community service projects within Southborough. As part of the golf fundraising activities, Troop 92 Scouts collected generous sponsorships from more than 50 local businesses to support Troop 92.
The course consisted of two (2) rounds across the course's 9 holes with ranging difficulty level. At each hole were signs displaying the names of the local businesses who sponsored the tournament. Cash prizes were award for the top three teams (with the lowest combined scores), longest drive, and shot closest to hole. All of the contents of the raffle baskets were generously donated by local Metro West businesses.
