Community service is a important part of the Scouting experience. All scouts in Troop 92 have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of volunteer activities that benefit the local Southborough community. Below are just a few examples of the service events Troop 92 supports during the year.
Troop 92 runs the annual Kids Shop to raise money for the Southborough community. Run in early November, this popular event lets children shop for unique, affordable gifts for their parents, siblings, grandparents, teachers, babysitters, and even their pets.
Each Memorial Day ahead of the annual parade, Troop 92 Scouts members of the local community gather the Southborough Rural Cemetery to replace the weathered American flags with new flags at each veteran's headstone.
Scouting for Food is one of Troop 92's proudest community service events. Our scouts work with the local Cub Scout pack and Girl Scout troops to restock the Southborough Food Pantry in time for the holiday season and to keep food on shelves through the winter and spring to help make an impact on food insecurity in our community.
Working with the Bagley-Fay American Legion and Choate VFW post, Troop 92 Scouts sort cans and bottles at the Southborough Transfer Station recycling center to raise funds that help support these local veterans organizations. Troop 92 takes great pride in community service for our local heroes!
